Imaginary Friends and Enemies - Episode 406
Melinda and Jim attend a wedding for Jim’s friend Trish and Melinda discovers that a child ghost is haunting Trish and convincing her to play a game which he says will keep her safe. When Trish plays the game she discovers a terrible truth about her fiance and calls of the wedding. When Jim goes back to clean up, the enraged ex-fiance is still there and he and Jim struggle and Jim is shot. He is taken to the hospital and dies and his ghost appears to Melinda.

If Jim is no longer in the series, I will not be watching it anymore. I just loved the chemistry between him and Melinda. The two of them together made the show. I know a great many other people feel the same as I do. I don’t know why the writers just can’t leave well enough alone. You get a great show and you have to mess it up by having one of the best characters die off. I am most dissappointed.

I HOPE THAT THE ENDING WITH JIM DIEING WAS NOT TRUE. I CANNOT IMAGINE THE SHOW WITHOUT HIM.

I could not believe it to be true…How could they have Jim die on this show. He and Melissa make amazing characters together….the show won’t be the same without him…. I love this show and not to have him on it with her, I don’t know if I can watch it now……

My co-workers and i agree, how could the writers kill off one of the most important people, through it all Jim has been in Melinda corner no matter who didn’t beleive her he always did and was there to give love and support. To remove him is a mistake; i can only hope that this is another Bobby Ewing dream sequence. And she will wake up and all is well; Please CBS don’t mess with a GOOD THING. Leave Jim and Melinda alone.

I will not be watching anymore either if Jim stays dead. Why would they be so crazy as to kill off another character after the first partner, and then Jay Mohr left. CRAZY.

I will no longer be watching the show. How could the writers kills Jim! After I watched Jim die, I struggled to sleep the entire night. I’m extremly, completly dissapointed! That’ll be the last show for me. I will no longer be rushing home to see my favorite show. Too sad.

Why would you do such a stupid thing as killing Jim. It did make me mad, and am hoping this will be all a dream. Of course I am still going to watch it but very disappointed. Did his character want out of the show. Please let us know.

I also cannot believe that the show has chosen to kill off a central character. The relationship and chemistry between Jim and Melinda, is the core of the show. We have come to care about these characters and their lives and look forward each week to see how their relationship evolves. It’s story development at it’s best, and now the writers are jeopardizing the storyline for the viewers. You have spent four years building a fan base, and now you risk loosing us due to your poor choices. Don”t let this happen!!

You have got to be kidding. You can not kill off Jim This better be a dream.
It has alway been great to see a marrage working on tv. With all the crap going on on Tv to see to people in love and surporting one another you are messing up big time. Please from one of you biggest fan dreams always work out. We the fans will except it. REMEMBER DALLAS and the season that Bobby was dead it worked

CBS what are you doing?? Whose bright idea was it to kill off Jim?
I have faithfilly watched since the first episode and have loved the fact that the main characters are a married couple. I’m still hoping this is just a bad dream that Melinda is having. It totally changes the way feel about the show.
Please bring Jim back - I don’t think the show will survive his loss.

I remember a lot of shows where they killed off a character and the ratings died. One was “Good Times” - they killed off the dad to give more air time to JJ Walker and his ‘dyn-o-mite” - stupid. It was the first show that showed a two parent black household where they were hard-working folks. Now you kill off Jim, who makes life easier for Melinda with his support and help through his contacts. I would have thought they could use more of him with Melinda being contacted by those who died though Jim tried everything he could. Did the writers run out of creativity and if they could write for the character, they had to kill him? I’m hoping, like many, that this is just the ‘ghost community’ showing Melinda what life would be like without him. Or is it that someone’s brother was out of acting jobs so they decided to have Jim played by two people -David Conrad to be seen by Melinda, and the other one seen by everyone else. If Jim doesn’t return, there are several of us who won’t return to viewing it. Too bad. I really looked forward to the Friday night lineup.

I agree with everyone else, not a smart move to kill off the character of Jim. They did the same thing with the tv series Medium when they killed off the husband. Unfortunatey, I no longer watch that series. Not sure where your going with this story line but I don’t think anyone will accept the change if you permantely change the character and no longer use Jim’s face.
On another note, please bring back Melinda’s thick, dark hair with some bangs. The thinned out, shorter, blond color with no bangs is not only unflattering it makes her look older.

WELL, I’VE LET IT SINK IN - IT HAS BEEN WEEKS AND I HAVEN’T WATCHED SINCE THEY KILLED JIM OFF. I TRIED WATCHING TONIGHT AND IT IS STILL RIDICULOUS AND I WON’T EVER WATCH THIS SHOW AGAIN. IT HAS NOT OPENED ANY NEW POSSIBILITES TO INTEREST ME!!!

my friend and i are addicted to this show and are surprised about the change from Jim to Sam. i was wondering if you could do a special premere for my baby sister who was just born a couple of days ago and my family is deathly sick so we dont know if she’ll live if you can… great, if you cant…great…just try!.

Oh My God I Watched Tonights Episode The 16th June 2009 The One Where Melinda And Jim Go To A Friends Weding, It Was A Good Episode Then When Jim Got Shot I Was Like Oh My God I Hoped He Would Be Ok.
